As reported on German smartphone-web, T-Mobile Germany is introducing it's first Windows Mobile Smartphone later this month. After o2 Germany revealed its first Smartphone in its current shop-flyer, now T-Mobile did the same but with a complete unknown device - the T-Mobile SDA.

The T-Mobile SDA is based on the HTC Typhoon but pretty carrier tweaked and therefore it's the first Microsoft Smartphone which features carrier specific hardware buttons:

Below the device-screen you can see four buttons. While the outer left and right buttons are the Smartphone typical soft-/menu-buttons, the second button is the Home button and the third button is the back/delete button.
Left from the joystick (yes, finally we got the joystick back; something I've missed with the HTC Typhoon) we have a T-Mobile specific "t-zones" and the green call button while right from the joystick we have a "messaging" button as well as the red call button.

While the other features are pretty much the same as we already know it from the HTC Typhoon (VGA camera, Bluetooth, miniSD), the price might be the most amazing feature: together with a 24 month contract you can get the T-Mobile SDA for 99,95 Euro only (269,95 Euro without any subscription). :o

Well, within one week we got two carrier announcements in Germany for a Smartphone launch. Germany - so far a kind of Smartphone desert - finally becomes Smartphone heaven. T-Mobile with its entry, candybar Smartphone, o2 with its high-end, clamshell Smartphone!

Time to save some pocket money

Cheers ~ Arne
