It
looks like a
Asus
P-series smartphone but according to the information we've just received,
this is a brand new Asus A-series smartphone sporting Windows Mobile 6
Professional, a Marvell 520 MHz PXA27x CPU, 256 MB ROM and 128 MB RAM.
Uncommon for Asus A-series devices are the WWAN functionality since
A-series
devices are normally PNA (Personal Navigation Assistant). But the information
we've just received mentions, that this device features GSM/GPRS/EDGE and HSDPA
at 3.6 Mbps as well as WiFi and Bluetooth!

And yes, since it's a A-series (PNA) device it's also featuring GPS with SiRF
III and an FM radio (most likely used for TMC). Last but not least, the "Asus
Axxx" is expected to feature a 3.2 megapixel auto-focus camera.
If the device above becomes true - with the mentioned specs - this seems to
become an interesting device. Especially because the UMTS/HSDPA and GPS
combination is still rare.
Further information like price or release date are completely unknown so
UPDATE: Okay, I was completely wrong with the theory that the device
above is an Asus A-series device. I've just received the confirmation that it
will be indeed a P-series device plus GPS SiRF III capabilities. Again thanks to
"cinia_tungtung" for the follow-up! Also I got the word from two sources now,
that the above mentioned specs are definitely confirmed and that the device, as
we see it above, exists already. Therefore we can say it's not a rumor anymore
but kind of confirmed.
Cheers ~ Arne
