While
the HTC Firestone
is still not confirmed, wmpoweruser.com received a new rendering of a device
which looks way more like a new HTC smartphone then the
earlier ever did. According to the still unconfirmed information, the HTC
Firestone is still expected to run on Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional and is
said to be powered by a Qualcomm 8250 CPU at 600 MHz. Furthermore it's expected
that the Firestone supports quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE as well as dualband UMTS/HSDPA
at 900/2100 MHz, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, WiFi b/g and aGPS. Furthermore it's now said
that the (most likely 3.6" WVGA touchscreen) is capacitive (which makes - with the
latest Windows Mobile 6.5 changes
- sense).

Being a so called "media centric" smartphone, the Firestone is said to have
an externally accessible hot-swappable microSD card slot and large speakers in
the front and back for audio playback.
