While
real Windows Mobile 7 information are still in the dust, Kevin Chen, HTC's
General Manager for MEA and CIS is quoted that HTC plans to release its first
Windows Mobile 7 smartphone at Q1 next year.
That's at least what
PhoneReport says, which had the chance to chat with Chen during the HTC
Touch Diamond launch event in South Africa. At this event, Chen unveiled that
HTC is planning to release a device with Google's Android Operating System by Q4
of this year and also confirmed that Windows Mobile 7 is on the roadmap for a Q1
launch early next year.
Sure, it's somewhat known that Microsoft is working on a new Windows Mobile
version which is so far known as Windows Mobile 7 but neither Microsoft nor any
of its partners have confirmed a possible release date yet and this is the first
piece of information which talks about timings. This makes me thinking that
Windows Mobile 7 could possibly announced during next year's Mobile World
Congress in Barcelona but again, nothing is confirmed yet.
Cheers ~ Arne
