Is Orange to release an updated SPV C500 so called C550? At least Leigh over at have received some anonymous information that Orange is going to introduce another HTC Smartphone which was unknown so far. also received the following specs:

  • 1.3 Megapixel camera
  • GPRS class 10
  • 240x320 262k TFT colour screen
  • Integrated SZGA and Flash
  • 64MB internal memory and Mini SD external memory
  • USB, IrDA and Bluetooth connectivity
  • Video MMS and download and playback
  • Java 2.0

While it looks pretty much like a T-Mobile SDA Music with a different housing, the features are quite different since the device above is expected to include a QVGA screen (240 x 320 pixel as used by most Pocket PCs today while today's Smartphones use 176 x 220 pixel displays only), 1.3 Megapixel camera (as already introduced by HTC with the Magician and Alpine) and it looks like it has a flash (photo light which is new for HTC products).

So far it is a nice rumor but it looks like a promising device.

See a picture and more information at However, as Leigh said: if this device is true I wonder how long it takes until he gets a call from Orange to get the article removed.

UPDATE: Over at MoDaCo it is reported, that this device will have size of 90 x 47 x 25 mm and a weight of 110g only. According to Paul the handset is due to hit the shops in May!

Cheers ~ Arne
