During the past weeks, I've spoken with some companies and readers and many of them weren't aware, that the::unwired offers a) a perfectly designed mobile version and b) a RSS Feed. So no, you can not come here from your PC or MAC only but also from your mobile devices.
Unlike some other sites, for the mobile version of the::unwired you don't have to remember any different URLs but www.theunwired.net is simply good enough to get the access to the::unwired - from your Windows Mobile Pocket PC, Pocket PC Phone Edition, Smartphone or virtually any other WAP 2.0/xHTML enabled mobiles device as well.
The Content Management System (CMS) does all the rest since it recognizes the device and browser and either serves you the PC version or the mobile device optimized version (bellow the PC version followed by the the mobile version with a QVGA Pocket PC and Smartphone while it also works with CIF and VGA screens):
With the mobile version you get feature-wise basically the same you also get on your PC:
- Full article access to all categories
- Commenting articles (either anonymously or with your forum login)
- Full archive access (since fall 2001)
- Article search
- Full Forum access with the possibility to create and reply to postings (registered forum members only)
- Forum search
- And more
The only area which isn't available through the mobile version is the Photo Album.
If you are using RSS Feeds as well and haven't added the::unwired to your feed-list yet, you might want to do so now and hey - you are not alone at all - according the latest Feedburner statistics:
You can either subscribe to the::unwired RSS Feed by clicking to the appropriate button on the right side and if your service isn't listed yet, the feed URL is http://www.theunwired.net/xml/
This is the only URL you need to use, doesn't matter if you want to access the::unwired RSS feeds from your PC or mobile device since the::unwired RSS feed uses the same URL for the full article, doesn't matter if you click to it from a PC or mobile device.
Couldn't be easier to stay up-to-date, right?
Cheers ~ Arne
PS: Sorry for the shameless self-promotion but since the::unwired gets so many new visitors every day, I have to tell them from time to time which access options the::unwired offers in addition.
