Following Spotify's earlier public Beta release of its new Android 4.0 compatible streaming app, Spotify today released the final version which is now available from the Google Play Market. Based on the public Beta and the experiences, this totally new app with features a top-to-bottom redesign with a all-new slide-out navigation. It's even more social that the previous version and allows to check out friends' profile pages and playlists on the go. Artist imagery is now provided in high resolution and features related artist view - available for the first time on mobile.
"Extreme" sound quality setting allows for 320 kbps listening and it's really faster more stable than the previous version. While the public preview didn't sport all the latest features, the final version is now also featuring play queue, Last.fm scrobbling, crossfade and gapless playback settings, an all new widget to control Spotify from the home screen as well as folder support.
Spotify for Android is available free of charge but requires a premium subscription of 9.95 Euro per month.
