Kevin Fong informed me, that there is an effort to gather signatures on a petition to Hewlett Packard requesting that they continue support of the Compaq Wireless Pack for GSM/GPRS Networks under Windows Mobile 2003 and the 3000/5000 iPAQ platforms:

This site is intended as a gathering place for owners of Compaq/HP iPAQ's and the Compaq Wireless Pack who wish to sign a petition for presentation to HP to continue development and support of the Wireless Pack.

The Wireless Pack is a high-cost accessory (in excess of $500 US Dollars). For the past year, HP has shown a lack of progress on development of patches and support for this device under Pocket PC 2003, and compatibility with its 5000 series iPAQ's.

The goal of this site is to gather enough signatures on a petition to HP to request that they continue support and development of the Wireless Pack product.

PLANNED SUBMISSION DATE: FRIDAY, MARCH 19, 2004

So if you are an owner of a Compaq Wireless Pack or even an owner of an iPAQ "only", please go to his site and sign the petition. He is right that the Wireless Pack was an expensive accessory and not getting it supported anymore is hard to accept.
