When
Google introduced
Google Sync for Mobile earlier this year, Google turned on Gmail Contacts
and Calendar sync only. However, today Google also activated Gmail for Google
Sync. Using the Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync protocol, Google Sync, now allows
to get Gmail messages pushed directly to a mobile phone. Having an over-the-air,
always-on connection means that device's inbox is always up to date. Sync works
with most phone's native E-Mail applications which support Exchange ActiveSync
(for instance Windows Mobile) so there's no additional software needed. For
sure, Google Sync for Mobile still allows to sync just Contacts, Calendar or
Gmail or any combination of the three.

To try Google Sync, visit m.google.com/sync from your computer. Please note
that Google Sync is still not supported on PCs/Outlook but it's a mobile service
only.
