While
nothing is confirmed yet,
Sony Ericsson just updated its German mobile phone
page and mentions, that the "Xperia X10 is available in 3 month" which would
mean an early Q2-2010 release! Back in November, the Xperia X10's availability
was announced for
Q1-2010. However, this delay would be in sync with Rogers
recent announcement
that the Canadian carrier will launch the Sony Xperia X10 in the second quarter
2010. That's definitely bad news for Sony Ericsson which, for some reasons,
wasn't able to launch its Windows Mobile Xperia smartphones in a timely manner
first and now Sony
Ericsson's first Android Xperia smartphone seems to face the same destiny.

On the other hand, this delay could mean that Sony Ericsson will ship the
Xperia X10 with Android 2.1/Eclair, rather than the announced Android 1.6/Donut
version which would be - at time of the launch - pretty outdated anyway, even if
Sony Ericsson seems to do a great job with its own user interface and services.
There's no official confirmation available from Sony Ericsson, if a release
in 3 months mean early Q2-2010 or late Q1-2010.
