In addition to the HTC Touch Diamond information for Sprint and Verizon, also received information about an upcoming North American HTC Touch Pro launch. According to these information, both, Sprint and Verizon, will release a CDMA version of HTC's upcoming HTC Touch Pro and like the GSM/UMTS version, the North American versions will also feature the 5-rows slide-out keyboard which Sprint's internal code-name is "HTC Herman" while Verizon calls it "HTC Raphael". This speaks for the fact that Sprint's Touch Pro will have the same design as the upcoming T-Mobile MDA Vario IV while Verizon's version will most likely look like the original HTC Touch Pro.

And while Sprint's HTC Herman also runs on the original HTC Touch Diamond Qualcomm 7501A chipset at 528 MHz, Verizon's HTC Rapahel only runs on a Qualcomm 7500 chipset with 400 MHz processor. Other differences are the memory: While the Sprint's Herman is expected to feature 512 MB ROM and 256 MB RAM, Verizon's Raphael is expected to feature 512 MB of ROM but 128 MB of RAM only while both smartphones support memory expansion through microSD cards:

Last but not least, Sprint's Herman will have the accelerometer while Verizon's Raphael lacks it, even if the original HTC Touch Pro has it onboard as well.
Nevertheless, both devices share HTC Touch Pro features like WiFi b/G, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR and the 3.2 megapixel autofocus camera with photo light.

It's expected that the Sprint HTC Herman will be available with Sprint early October while the Verizon HTC Raphael will follow 30 days after.

Cheers ~ Arne
