At
a launch event, E-Ten Information Systems held in the UK yesterday, the
Taiwanese mobile device manufactures just unveiled its new Glofiish M800, an
industry leading Windows Mobile 6 Professional smartphone that combines the
current most advanced mobile technologies to deliver a premium mobile
communications experience. The Glofiish M800 features a Samsung S3C2442 CPU at
500 MHz and supports quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE, triband UMTS/HSDPA, WiFi b/g as
well as Bluetooth 2.0+EDR. The built-in autofocus main camera features 2
megapixel, the front facing UMTS video telephony camera features 0.3 megapixel.
Last but not least, the M800 includes an inbuilt SiRF Star III GPS receiver and
a slide-out QWERTY keyboard:

Backed-up with 256 MB of ROM, the M800 unfortunately features 64 MB of RAM
only. However, memory can be expanded with microSD memory cards. The 2.8" VGA
display allows more information to be viewed onscreen at once, while text,
images and video are sharper and easier to view and when traveling on foot or in
the car GPS provides access to accurate location information for easy
navigation.
Compared to handsets from competing vendors, few, if any, can equal the
complete feature list of the M800. For example, while there are some models on
the market that also features 3.5G and a sliding keyboard design, like the
HTC TyTN II,
these products only have a QVGA display which is one-quarter the resolution of
the M800's VGA screen.
Additionally, as it is based on the Windows Mobile 6, the Glofiish M800
supports the extensive library of software written for Microsoft's Pocket PC
platform.
A price or availability wasn't announced today.
