Back in November, Telefónica and O2 Asia announced the management buyout of O2 Asia which is now known as MWG (Mobile and Wireless Group) and with the launch of the new site, MWG pre-announced three new Windows Mobile Pocket PC Phones: The Xda Atom 4, the Xda Flame 2 and the Xda Zinc 2. Now, Expansys Hong Kong unveiled what the Xda Atom 4 is about and even more important how it will look.
Featuring Windows Mobile 6 Professional, the Xda Atom 4 is powered by a Marvell PXA270 CPU at 520 MHz and  supports quadband GSM/GPRS as well as triband UMTS/HSDPA up to 3.6 Mbps, WiFi b/g and Bluetooth 2.0. Furthermore the Xda Atom 4 features a 3 megapixel main camera, a SiRF Star III GPS receiver and an FM radio with RDS support:

The inbuilt 256 MB ROM and 64 MB RAM memory can be expanded with microSD memory cards and the 2.8"  touchscreen supports QVGA/VGA (?) resolution.

While availability isn't announced yet, Expansys Hong Kong takes preorders already and gives a price of HK$ 4,775 / around 415 Euro.

2 questions I know nobody can answer yet: Is this a kind of TouchFLO? Looks like (I know, it's a rendering not an actual photo). What's this Today screen? That's looking good!
Arne, do you know who is manufacturing it? Wonder why it's not using a Qualcomm chip? Also I wonder if we will see it in Europe too after MWg isn't O2 anymore.

VGA seems to be a typo. on the left it says QVGA which is more common at 2,8

@Forrester: Good question, it looks like a kind of TouchFLO display (at least it seems to be a plain display) but I have no idea if it's a kind of bio touch display. However, since also Samsung uses this technology for its SGH-i780, there are good chances anyway.
Don't know if we will see MWG devices outside Asia. Since MWG isn't part of O2 anymore, it's another ODM carriers can source from, so why not?

@Fab: Funny, the features mentions QVGA, the technical details says VGA... Time will tells us but I've updated the posting anyway.

Anyway, TouchFLO seems to be mostly software, not hardware.

Yep, TouchFLO is HTC's term for this kind of software integration. That's why I wrote about "bio touch" (haven't heard of a better name for this kind of thumb friendly displays yet).

Could you expand on this "bio touch" a bit? I've heard it used, but I'm not sure what the difference is to a normal display apart from the fact that there is no bevel?
