Last week there was some rumours about a new HTC Smartphone with an QWERTY keyboard like the Motorola Q or the Samsung i320. Today Mike Temporale from Smartphone Thoughts recieved the first pre-production picture of this device. This new device is being developed under the codename of HTC Excalibur.
While the picture appears to make this device look big, it's only a couple millimeters thicker than Samsung's i320 and 2 millimeters shorter. The Excalibur will be an Quad-band device with built in WiFi.
But there is just one more thing, a realy innovative touch jog strip.
As you can clearly see this strip on the right side of the screen. Sliding your finger down on the strip, it scrolls down, slide up and it'll scroll up. Touch the top to activate the Start menu, or the bottom to go back. So this will make things like browsing a large website more easy.
So I'm really impressed by this device, it looks like HTC is doing a great job with it, and fore sure Motorola and Samsung got a new competitor.
