UNVEILED: Global Certification Forum approves the HTC XV6975

The GCF (the Global Certification Forum) just approved the HTC XV6975, a yet unknown smartphone from HTC. And if the XV6975 follows HTC's typical "XV" naming matrix, the XV6975 would be a Verizon Wireless Windows Mobile smartphone. However, the GCF lists quadband GSM and singleband UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA at 2100 MHz as supported technologies and frequencies which doesn't sounds too much like a Verizon phone at all (since Verizon is neither supporting GSM nor UMTS). On the other hand, the HTC XV6975 could be another Verizon "world phone" supporting GSM and UMTS in addition to Verizon's CDMA and  EV-DO Rev. A technology.

No further information given yet.

Cheers ~ Arne

The XV6975 is the CDMA/GSM version of the HTC Touch Pro2.
