German .webOS Blog has received screenshots of a HP Pre 3 which shows a Skype integration in webOS 2.2. According to .webOS Blog's tipster, it's said that Skype is part of and deeply integrated into webOS 2.2 and allows to define if international calls should be automatically dialed via Skype while domestic calls are connected through the carrier's telephony service. Alternatively it's also possible to define if webOS should ask every time through which service the call should be connect. That said it was also mentioned that audio and video chats were successfully tested with O2 Germany's 3G mobile network and not just through a WiFi connection.
Furthermore it's said that the webOS integration allows to check the Skype balance from the webOS menu, that incoming Skype calls are handled like standard voice calls and that Skype support's the Pre 3 front facing camera for video telephony.
While O2 Germany has not yet announced any plans of an upcoming launch of the HP Palm Pre 3, the carrier has opened its network for VoIP calls some time ago. Therefore it wouldn't make me wonder if we might see the Pre 3 on O2 anyway.
