Especially in emerging markets, dual-SIM phones are a hot topic and while we've seen a couple of Android dual-SIM smartphones in the past, there was virtually nothing available from the big players. However, HTC is now entering the market with its HTC Desire V, a kind of dual-SIM version of the recently announced Desire C, which is nevertheless slightly bigger and more powerful. Running on Android 4.0 with Sense 4, the Desire V is powered by a 1 GHz singlecore MSM 7227A Qualcomm CPU and features 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of flash memory which can be expanded with MicroSD memory cards. It also comes with a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and Beats Audio.

SIM 1 will support triband GSM/GPRS at 900/1800/1900 MHz while SIM 2 supports quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE at 850/900/1800/1900 MHz as well as dualband UMTS/HSPA at 900/2100 Mhz. At a size of 118.5 x 62.3 x 9.3 mm, the V is is expected to weight 114 gram.

While the phone was yet not officially announced by HTC, it's said that the Desire V will hit the Ukraine next month where it is expected to retail for around US$ 470. HTC has not yet unveiled any plans for a wider availability.
