At the recent Telecom.paper Mobile NL 2011 conference, Victor Saeijs, Vice President of Nokia Europe, confirmed that the company plans to launch its upcoming Windows Phone Mango smartphones in Europe first. According to Saeijs, 6 European countries (France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, and the U.K.) will see Windows Phone-powered Nokia phones first while it's also interesting to note that Finland, home of the formerly world largest mobile phone maker, isn't on the list of launch countries. Furthermore, Saeijs affirmed that Nokia is still targeting a 2011 launch which will be - most likely - just one device with more to be announced at the 2012 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
Definitely good news for the residents of the above mentioned countries but its also obvious that Nokia will expand this list of release-countries pretty fast. Especially because Microsoft will support way more countries with its Mango release than with its initial Windows Phone 7 launch!
