Following
today's
official announcement of SGH-i900, O2 Germany unveiled that it's launching
Samsung's i900 OMNIA later this summer. Running on Windows Mobile 6.1, the i900
is powered by a Marvel I 320LV which supports quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE and
UMTS/HSDPA up to 7.2 Mbps. Furthermore, WiFi b/g and Bluetooth 2.0+EDR are on
board as well as a an FM radio and a GPS receiver. The Synaptics 3.2" WQVGA (240
x 400 pixel) touch screen features haptics and vibrations give users feedback
when the display is touched. The built-in autofucus camera supports 5.0
megapixel and O2's version of the i900 will comes with 8 GB which is expandable
with microSD memory cards.
 
Further features are TV-out (O2 Germany confirmed that a TV-out cable is part
of the package). At a size of 112 x 56.9 x 12.5 mm, the i900 features a 1440 mAh
battery.
The Samsung SGH-i900 will be available from O2 Germany from August. With a 24
month Genion plan, it will costs 179 Euro. A price without a subscription wasn't
announced today.
