 Following
Toshiba's earlier announcement to launch the TG01 Windows Mobile 6.1
Professional smartphone later this year,
today O2 Germany announced as the first carrier to carry Toshiba's latest power
house. Running Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional (hopefully at time of release it
will be Windows Mobile 6.5 already) on top of the Qualcomm's 1GHz Snapdragon
CPU, the TG01 supports quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE as well as dualband UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA,
WiFi b/g, Bluetooth 2.0 and GPS. At a size of 70 x 129 x 9.9 mm and a weight of
129 g, the TG01 sports an enormous 4.1" WVGA (800 x 480) touchscreen
display and is backed up by 512 MB ROM and 256 MB RAM which can be expanded by
SDHC compatible microSD cards.
O2 Germany will launch the white TG01 only and it's said that the smartphone
will be available from summer this year. A price wasn't announced today but will
be announced with availability.
