Some
time back,
we reported about the
Samsung GT-I8000 which we expected to become the
Samsung i900 Omnia
follower and latest information seems to confirm it. According to these info,
the GT-I8000 could be called Samsung Omnia2 or Omnia II and it's expected to
feature a 3.7" WVGA (800x480) AMOLED or TFT resistive touchscreen, a 8.1
megapixel camera with dual LED flash and VGA videos at 30 fps video recording
(even if we've heard that the 8 megapixel camera was axed in favor of a less
powerful camera). Furthermore the I8000 is expected to feature 150 MB internal
memory, a Qualcomm processor and a microSD card slot as well as GSM, 3G,
Bluetooth, WiFi GPS and miniUSB are onboard.
Furthermore it's expected that the new Samsung Omnia II features a new user
interface on top of Windows Mobile which is a kind of cube. Interesting enough,
there's always a YouTube video available which shows this cubical GUI running on
top of Windows Mobile, while the device itself wasn't shown at all.
No further information available yet but there's still the chance that the
GT-I8000 Omnia II is the device Samsung is
going to unpack on its event on the 15th this month.
Cheers ~ Arne
