UPDATE: Foursquare updates Windows Phone 7 client - still lacks support of its latest features

Hot on the heels of this week's 4th & Mayor launch, also Foursquare finally updated its very own Windows Phone 7 client to v1.5. And while the company isn't providing a change-log or any further information, it seems confirmed that Foursquare's latest client is finally supporting check-ins into locations with non-ASCII texts, like umlauts or special characters. However, still not supported are shouts or check-in comments with umlauts or other non-ASCII characters which is somewhat bad for everyone living in/visiting non-English countries. Other Foursquare features like commenting on check-ins, upload photos to places or tips as well as Foursquare's latest "explorer" feature are also still not supported.

Until Foursquare has fixed the other language issues as well as supporting its own services and features, it's recommended to use 4th & Mayor anyway since it's a full featured Windows Phone 7 Foursquare client what the original client should be!

Cheers ~ Arne
