UPDATE: HTC first to update Windows Phone 7 with its own ROM

While Microsoft and its carrier partners are still in the process of rolling-out Windows Phone 7's pre-NoDo and NoDo updates, it looks like HTC is going even further and is currently distributing its first own Windows Phone 7 update! We've just received the following screenshot which shows that a "HTC update for Windows Phone" is available! While we have previously heard that manufacturers will also be able to push updates to their Windows Phone 7 devices (for instance it's expected that Dell will release a separate WiFi bug-fix for its Venue Pro soon after the NoDo update), this is the first screenshot of a manufacturer Windows Phone 7 update which I'm aware of.

According to the info we've received, it seems that users which have updated their HTC devices with ChevronWP7.Updater to NoDo are the first and yet only users which have received the update. However, if this is true it also means that ChevronWP7.Updater updated Windows Phone 7 devices aren't half as dead as maybe feared (see Update 2 at the bottom).

Has anyone else seen or received a dedicated manufacturer update yet?

Cheers ~ Arne
