Xetra's xBar, my very personal all-time favorite application for the Windows Mobile Smartphone, got an update yesterday and is available in version 2.5 now.

Microsoft's Windows Mobile Smartphones supports multitasking but unfortunately Smartphones don't provide any tools to exploit it. xBar enables you to exploit the best Windows features for your Smartphone such as easy switching between running applications as well as clipboard management and much more:

  • Easy switching between applications
  • Free memory by easily quitting unused apps
  • Auto clean Memory when reaching defined level
  • Task scheduler enable you to use mp3 for wake up
  • Use copy and paste
  • Launch apps with only a single key
  • Most keys on your phone are user programmable to your favorite programs
  • Displays Time & Memory load next to Battery and Radio level
  • xBar 2.0 is fully skinable, you can use Pocket PC-like notification bubble or your favorite desktop OS design

Version 2.5 Features:

  • Memory leak bug fixed
  • New shift key emulation allow all text selection on all Smartphones; You can also map on other key
  • Run macro on power connect/disconnect
  • Now you can disable the time icon
  • Calibration of the thermometer
  • Now Launcher displays the name of the shortcut in the subfolder start

xBar 2.5 is available for US$ $9.99 from (affiliate). Registered customers can download version 2.5 from Xetra's xBar project page.

Cheers ~ Arne
