Paragon Software (SHDD) recently released Handy Weather for the Windows Mobile Smartphone platform. This application makes users free from troubles concerned with weather changes.
Handy Weather makes customers free from complicated menus to scroll through to find the necessary info since it integrates into the Smartphone's Home screen from where it provides you a quick overview about the weather forecast as well as it can be launched from there:

  • Weather news and forecast for any point of the Earth: more than 40000 preset cities worldwide or any arbitrary location by coordinates (latitude and longitude)
  • Weather forecast straight from the Smartphone Home screen plug-in. User can set the program on Home Screen and get 5-day forecast for 5 world cities always in sight without opening the application
  • Customer can choose between 3 handy and user-friendly views: 5-day weather forecast, 5-day high and low temperature graph, detailed one-day forecast
  • Most detailed description of weather conditions: high and low day temperature in Celsius or Fahrenheit, real feel temperature, wind direction, gust and speed in mph, km/h or m/s, the sun’s ultraviolet intensity index
  • Automatic weather forecast update in a set by user time period (4, 8, 12 or 24 hours) or stated moment of time. The program will update itself whether it is started up or not
  • Variety of supported Internet connections: GPRS, Wi-Fi or via ActiveSync PassThrough
  • Less traffic: only 2 Kb to download a city forecast
  • Compatible with all Windows Mobile 2003, Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition and Windows Mobile 5.0 Smartphones (including Motorola Q)

This just looks like a great application for bikers, hikers and business travelers and with its US$ 14.95, it's not too expensive. However, customers have to buy a one year subscription to get the weather updated. Nevertheless, if you want to try anyway, there is a trial version available as well.

Cheers ~ Arne
