During
the Mobile World Congress 2009,
T-Mobile announced as the fist mobile operator to launch its version of the
HTC Touch
Diamond2 as the T-Mobile MDA Compact V. Like with the recent launch of the
T-Mobile MDA Compact IV, which was based on the HTC Touch Diamond, T-Mobile
decided to use a slightly different ID for its own device and the Compact V
continues the design language of the MDA IV. Technically absolutely identically
to the HTC Touch Diamond2, the MDA Compact V will also feature quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE
as well as dualband UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA (HSDPA up to 7.2 Mbps and HSUPA up to 2.0
Mbps), Bluetooth 2.0, WiFi b/g and GPS:
T-Mobile will launch the MDA Compact V first in Germany, Austria, Czech
Republik the Netherlands and the UK anytime in June 2009. So far, T-Mobile is
only talking about Windows Mobile 6.1 (Professional), an upgrade to Windows
Mobile 6.5 isn't yet announced. However, with a June release it might be
possible that the MDA Compact V will be released with Windows Mobile 6.5
already.
