Following
HTC's earlier HD2 announcement, the Taiwanese smartphone manufacture today
held a press event in Taipei where HTC launched the
HD2 globally. HTC's
second Windows phone is quite unique in many aspects. First of all, it's the
first Windows Mobile smartphone which features a capacitive touchscreen, so far
known from the iPhones, Android or webOS smartphones only. Furthermore it's the
first Windows Mobile 6.5 smartphone which features HTC's new
Sense UI, and
upgrade to TouchFLO
3D, the company first introduced with the launch of the
HTC Hero Android
smartphone.
While the device, which is unboxed in this videoview, isn't a commercially
available unit but a marketing unit only, it already shows what the HTC HD2
comes with. Unfortunately it seems HTC has left a pouch out of the package.
According to HTC, The HD2 will be available in Europe and Asia in the
upcoming day/weeks with a launch in North America early 2010.
