What is a Web Service? A Web Service is a program running on an Internet site. The program can be called by a user and return information to that user based on the request. Web Services is bound to become the bearer of the new generation Internet content, since the plumbing of Web Services is made up by platform independent standards, backed by all major players.
How it works Here is a simple overview of how WebLiquid works:
And the two steps are:
Get Web Service Description (skin) from WebLiquid Web Service Directory Server
Access Web Service from third-party provider
All you need is the WebLiquid Pocket PC client, running on a Pocket PC connected to the Internet. An Internet connection can be made using wireless or wired methods, or using the ActiveSync Passthrough Connection together with your Internet connected desktop PC. The WebLiquid Pocket PC client retrieves available Web Services from the WebLiquid Web Services Directory server automatically.
