Silently, Vodafone Germany has launched a new Windows Mobile Smartphone called VDA II. The VDA II is based on HTC's Tornado reference design but uses the "Hertz" ID (which is the same as used by i-mate for the SP5).
Therefore the device isn't anything new, except the fact that it seems that Vodafone is the first carrier which uses the W-LAN feature of the Tornado-series (remember - Orange has disabled it in the C600, O2 Germany has disabled it in the Xda phone and also Cingular isn't using it for the Cingular 2125).
The VDA II is available for immediate delivery and costs from 149,50 Euro (with a 24 month contract) to 399,90 Euro without a contract. No word about planned releases in other countries or SIM Lock.
Cheers ~ Arne
