The soon to be available HTC Star Trek (aka Qtek 8500 and Dopod S300) is a fantastic slim mobile phone, not just a Smartphone and the question is how it compares to other clamshell mobile phones?

Bellow you will find a comparison to the Motorola RAZR V3, which stood model for HTC's latest Windows Mobile Smartphone as well as a comparison to Motorola's MPx 200 and MPx220 Windows Mobile Smartphones.

As you can see bellow, the Star Trek is a little bit wider than the Motorola MPx200 and MPx220 and nearly as long as the MPx220 (including antenna) but longer than the MPx200:

However, it's way thinner than the two Motorola Smartphones:

The Star Trek has nearly the same footprint as the Motorola RAZR V3. Closed it's slightly longer while opened its even longer because the front panel is as long as the body:

Also the RAZR V3 is still a little bit thinner than the Star Trek:

So what do you say after you have seen the direct comparison?

Cheers ~ Arne

Wow, thanks for the pics.  Man, you get all the fun new toys Arne!  My wife has a RAZR now, and loves the form factor, but misses the WM OS.  I'll have to consider getting her one when the price comes down a bit.
