Another
"JAS" device from i-mate - this time the SP JAS. Basically, the i-mate SP JAS is
based on HTC's Breeze Windows Mobile Smartphone reference design and therefore
it features Windows Mobile 5.0 and - even more important - WCDMA/UMTS (single
band 2100 MHz only). Furthermore it's supporting triband GSM/GPRS/EDGE at
900/1800/1900 MHz as well as Bluetooth 1.2 and is powered by a 300 MHz Samsung
CPU, sporting 128 MB RAM and 64 MB ROM. And for sure it has the 1.3 megapixel
camera (without photo light) on the back side.
So far, the specs are identically to HTC's own retail version - the HTC MTeoR
(read my HTC MTeoR review here).
However, while HTC has removed the front facing video telephony camera from its
MTeoR, i-mate has decided to add it (as Dopod did as well for the
Dopod 595) and therefore
the SP JAS includes a second front facing CIF camera for video telephony:
i-mate hasn't announced any availability yet - also a retail price wasn't given
so far.
