Germany today announced the launch of it O2 Xda orbit, better known as HTC
Artemis (also known as HTC
P3300 now). While O2 previewed the Xda cosmo at this month IFA exhibition,
it hasn't lost a single word about the Xda orbit (which was previewed by
T-Mobile as MDA compact III instead).
The O2 Xda orbit, which is based on the HTC Artemis, comes nevertheless in a
different ID which is called "HTC Cruiser". As the HTC Artemis reference design,
the Xda orbit is also sporting GPS as the highlight (together with a FM radio,
which is also used for dynamic traffic information) but also, unlike it is
expected from T-Mobile, O2's version will definitely featuring W-LAN b and g:
 
Other features are a full range of connectivity with GSM/GPRS/EDGE, Bluetooth
2.0 (including support for A2DP Bluetooth stereo) and Wi-Fi b/g as well as a 2
megapixel camera. The Xda orbit will also features HTC RollR (Trackball/Trackwheel
combination) for easy viewing and navigation through the menus.
The sales pack will also includes a car holder including car charger, a 512 MB
microSD card with preinstalled navigation maps of German, Austria and
Switzerland.
Together with a 24 month "O2 Genion plus Genion-Flatrate" tariff, the Xda orbit
will retail from O2 Germany for 249,99 Euro. Withou a contract, the Xda orbit
will be available for 619,99 Euro. Availability is planned within the next
weeks.
