And
while we are talking about
TechFaith Wireless' Pocket PCs, the guys from Pocket PC Hong Kong got
another device from the Chinese ODM into their hands - the UBiQUiO 601 which
have have seen before as
well.
Basically, it's a HTC Universal clone, this might describe it best but unlike
HTC's Universal, the UBiQUiO 601 isn't a UMTS device at all (not to think about
HSDPA) but just a triband GSM/GPRS device, sporting Bluetooth 1.2 (with support
for A2DP Bluetooth stereo) and W-LAN 802.11 b/g.
Powered by Windows Mobile 5.0 for Pocket PC Phone Edition and a TI OMAP 750 CPU,
the UBiQUiO 601 features 128 MB ROM and 64 MB RAM which is extendable through
miniSD cards. The 2.8" touch screen supports QVGA and the camera is a 2.0
megapixel CMOS:
Okay, I'm definitely not half impressed as I'm by the UBiQUiO 501 aka
i-mate JAQ3 but it's
rumored, that we will see this device to be released by i-mate as "i-mate K-JAR"
as well. Looks, like i-mate found in TechFaith Wireless a new partner. No
further information like price or release date were given yet.
UPDATE: Since I was kindly asked to remove the Pocket PC Hong Hong photos I've replaced them with some previously made photos.
Cheers ~ Arne
