I've
never heard about it nor I've seen it on any roadmaps but according to Chinese
site PhoneDaily, HTC has a media version of the HTC Artemis in the pipeline
which is to be released by Dopod as Dopod M700.
While the M700 (code name unknown) leaves the GPS functionalities, the memory is
increased "enormously" (for Windows Mobile Pocket PCs) and it still features the
HTC's RollR concept with the Trackball and Track Wheel in one, replacing the
D-Pad and joysticks normally used for Windows Mobile Pocket PCs.
While the device ID reminds on the Artemis, it's slightly changed and comes
along in a silver shiny housing:
Other Highlights:
- TI OMAP 850 CPU at 200 MHz
- Quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE
- WiFi 802.11b/g
- Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP/AVRC stereo support
- 2 Megapixel camera
- 256 MB ROM
- 64 MB RAM
- miniSD slot
- FM radio
- HTC Audio Manager called MediaHub
- RSS Reader
It's not yet clear if the devices will be also released by operators (like O2, T-Mobile or Orange as well) or if it is an Dopod exclusive one.
Cheers ~ Arne
