Is
this the rumored and long awaited Motorola Q Pro, the UMTS/3G version of today's
Motorola Q? Hungarian website Mobilemag.hu has published infos and photos of a
so far unseen Motorola Q code named "Moto Q Norman". The Norman has a brand new
black design (but still featuring the QWERTY thumb keyboard, for sure) and the
keys seems to be bigger and flatter now. More shortcut keys can be found at the
bottom of the keyboard, including shortcuts to media player, camera, calendar,
contact list and volume control.
The back of the Smartphone revealed the Vodafone logo! Other than the keyboard
changes, the Norman is expected to sport a 2 megapixel camera, mini USB
connector and should get Microsoft's latest Windows Mobile for Smartphone
Edition (whatever it means):

No further information, like planned release date, areas of availability, etc
given yet. Also it's not clear yet, if this device will be definitely the long
time awaited GSM/UMTS version of the Motorola Q or just another EV-DO version
for the North American market. UPDATE: Thanks to an anonymous tipster, I got the confirmation that this
is indeed the earlier this year
announced UMTS version aka Moto Q Pro (which makes sense since the device
above seems to be a Vodafone device and Vodafone is maintaining GSM and 3GSM
networks only). According to the information I received, the Norman supports
GSM, GPRS, EDGE as well as UMTS and HSDPA (it's not yet known in which bands)
and the Norman is expected to support W-LAN.
Looks like the Samsung SGH-i600 (which
I've recently previewed) gets a serious competitor! Cheers ~ Arne
