has published some more details about HTC's latest project, the HTC Athena
Pocket PC Phone Edition. We have heard some rumors before, that HTC is working
on a kind of HTC Universal follower and that the Taiwanese ODM wants to step
into the UMPC business and as it looks, the HTC Athena might be HTC's first try
- even if it isn't running Windows XP/Vista but - for sure - Windows Mobile for
Pocket PC Phone Edition.
According to BengalBoy.com, the HTC Athena is powered by a 400 MHz CPU and
its absolutely highlight should be the "detachable" QWERTY keyboard (however this works):
Regarding the supports wireless standards, BengalBoy.com got the information,
that the HTC Athena will be a triband GSM/GPRS/EDGE only device (without support
for the North American GSM 850) with support of UMTS 2100 MHz. In addition, the
HTC Athena is expected to include WiFi b/g as well as Bluetooth. Last but not
least it's sporting a 2 megapixel camera with macro and flash as well as a
significant ROM memory increase to 250mb which can be extended thought SD cards.
