Here we go - I was right when I said
that T-Mobile's previously unveiled MDA Vario III will be most likely the HTC Kaiser. Today, T-Mobile Germany confirmed the launch of the MDA Vario III during the IFA late next month (as expected) and indeed it's the HTC Kaiser (what else).
Also, as expected, the T-Mobile MDA Vario III will supports HSDPA phase II at 3.6 Mbps (but not HSDPA phase III at 7.2 Mbps). Further highlights are Windows Mobile 6 Professional, quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE as well as triband UMTS/HSDPA (sorry - still no UMTS support for T-Mobile USA).

Furthermore the MDA Vario III supports WiFi b/g, Bluetooth 2.0 and GPS. Powered
by a Qualcomm MSM7200 CPU at 400 MHz, the device sports 256 MB ROM and 128 MB
RAM which can be extended with microSD cards as well as a 3 megapixel CMOS
camera with autofocus on the backside and a front facing camera for UMTS video
telephony.
Not yet announced was the price. Also it's unknown if and when the T-Mobile
Vario III will be launched in other countries. So far, T-Mobile Germany
confirmed the availability for Germany in September only.
