Posted by Arne Hess - at 17:26 CET under 04 - Android News

As successful as Google is in many areas, the Internet giant has still not archived to seriously get its foot into the living room. Sure, we have seen Google TV and the Google Chromecast, but while the first one was everything but successful, the second one gained some attractiveness by tech savvies. Nevertheless, mass market looks different and Google isn't interested in niche products anymore - that's clear - but it looks for a dominance in the areas it offers its products. Nevertheless, as said it's common in other parts of the world to go contract free. For instance have we "O2 My Handy" (handy is the "German term for mobile phone) here in Germany which works independent from a mobile phone contract and which allows you to purchase a mobile phone which is financed by way of credit. This means you pay upfront a small amount and the rest 24 months equally.
