digital lifestyle mobile was renamed to digital living
Posted by Arne Hess - at 19:36 CET under Job - Editor and Journalist

That's way too cool and I'm proud to be (the media) part of this! As some of you know, beside my own the::unwired site, where I'm the publisher and editor in chief, I'm also - how I call myself - "Blogger #1" of digital lifestyle mobile, the online part of a bi-monthly print magazine which covers digital lifestyle topics. So far, digital lifestyle is published by CMP-WEKA, a joint venture of the American CMP and German WEKA publishing houses.

Now, Deutsche Messe AG has teamed up with CMP-WEKA to stage the new stand-alone event called "digital living" in Hall 27 at CeBIT 2006 (9 to 15 March). As its name implies, this new highlight will examine the impact of IT on our everyday lives. It will present a fascinating blend of emotional appeal and information value.

For several years now, "Consumer Electronics" has been a highly successful exhibit category within CeBIT and major players such as Deutsche Telekom, Intel, LG, Microsoft, Panasonic, Samsung and Sharp have been increasingly demonstrating how the way we live and work is being revolutionized by innovations in IT and telecommunications.

Listen your favorite radio station wherever you are
Posted by Arne Hess - at 20:35 CET under Digital - Lifestyle

Oh I love the Internet! Today I was working at my home office and listened the whole day one of my favorite Hessian FM radio stations, streamed over the Internet. As a Hessian in Bavaria, I miss my Hessian radio stations here, even if the local radio stations aren't that bad at all but I've listened HR3 and FFH for 28 years before I've moved to Munich (originally I came from near Frankfurt) and thanks to broadband and the Internet I can even listen them here as well as I can follow the local news there (I love it to hear the traffic jam message: between "Offenback Kreuz und Obertshausen" or between "Seligenstädter Dreieck and Obertshausen" since I came from Obertshausen where my parents and brother still live as well as most of my friends).

Welcome to my private Blog
Posted by Arne Hess - at 16:47 CET under Off Topic

No question, blogging is (still) a hype and everybody is blogging. From the desperate housewife to the company CEO and while  the::unwired is already a mix between a news site and a blog, I didn't had a personal blog yet (no, my MSN Spaces isn't counting sine I'm using it for some tests only).
This will changes now with the launch of my personal sub-blog under the::unwired. :-)
What will I post here? Hm, not sure at least nothing profane or trivial, it wont become my online diary where you can follow-up my personality but in some kind it will be related to the::unwired, to wireless in general, to the GSM industry, to mobile devices, to gadgets, etc. but way more spiced with my personal point of view and sometimes it might be just a rant. Therefore I've created the following categories:
