this posting isn't Windows Mobile related, not in the forehand but since it is
about the competition, Microsoft and Windows Mobile might face soon - it's
definitely worth to be posted here.
During his keynote at the Macworld, Steve Jobs has announced the long awaited
and 1000 times rumored - previously known as Apple iPhone and indeed - it is
But it's even more, it's a widescreen iPod with touch controls (stylus-free),
a mobile phone and a breakthrough Internet communications device and not these
are not three separate devices but just one!
It features a 3.5" screen, highest resolution screen Apple ever shipped with

And now for the release dates and prices! The 4 GB iPhone will retail for US$
499, the 8 GB version for US$ 599 (both with a subsidized 2 years contract).
It will hit North America/USA in June and will be available exclusively from
Cingular! Europe will get the iPhone in the 4th quarter of this year, followed
by Asia in 2008.
Apple has chosen to unveil the iPhone today because the device has to go
through FCC approval and they thought it would be better to introduce it
themselves rather than let the FCC introduce the iPhone. ;-)
