Like me, I know a couple European readers pledged the Omate TrueSmart 2.0 smartwatch after I wrote about it first time back in August and after the recent Omate announcement of further shipping delays, I received some feedback from some readers which - well let's say it this way - indicated "a frustration". Many of you have pledged for the 2100 MHz UMTS "Omate TrueSmart DEVELOPERS Edition" which was said to deliver "in October (last year) - before anyone else". However, Omate said in its latest update that it discovered some quality issues with this version (after they've upgraded each backer to the 1GB RAM / 8 GB flash memory version) which causes - also thanks to Chinese New Year - even further shipping delays.

Thanks Arne for sharing the info. Was a good read and explained a lot, if not everything. Still don't understand why Omate waited with the 2100MHz production until they received the FCC. We don't care the FCC here in Europe. But your writing brought some transparency into the whole thing. Also saw the Pearl watch and was so close to order one, even if it looks uglier than the TrueSmart.

Keep up the good work and please share with us further info anytime you get news. Looks like you have a better contact to them than most of us have. My email was never answered.

None of this is unexpected. The frustrating part is that Omate doesn't simply inform the backers and pre-orders of this information as it is available.

I don't understand why Omate has not shipped my keychain, which I ordered way back when.
If they are producing watches, I would assume that they have motherboards...
