Hello, I have an iPAQ 5450, I followed your instructions and was able to launch the program, thank you. I am however having some porblems. I am trying to use this in a similar manner as ministumbler (since it doesn't support many NICs). As I move out of a coverage area, so my wireless card does not see any APs, the WiNc application complains that the wireless has been turned off and the app. automatically shuts down. This is particularly frustrating as I move in and out of "official" coverage areas in an attempt to find rouge access points, especially if I have not saved the Available Networks before it shuts down on me.
Any Suggestions?

I was able to get PocketWINc working with my iPAQ 5455. It detects all access points once I do a soft boot. The problem is that it will not update the status of existing access points or detect new ones unless I perform another soft boot or restart the WLAN. Do you have any suggestions?

I downloaded the registry editor and transferred it to my IPAQ 5450 but when I tried to install it I got the message that there was there was no application associated with it.
What should I do now?

The newest ROM from HP the 1.11.19 ENG fixes the registry. And seems to solve a lot of problems with this program. So you might want to try it after the update. Also you might want to look at DataWorm's program which is a lot more like ministumbler, than this program.

I have read all the comments about getting the internal 802.11 card to be detected by PocketWinC as well as Pocket Warrior. The thing that has me perplexed is I do not have the registry key everyone is reffering to. I have a vnetmini1 registry key and the only reference to "linkage" is under the vnetusba" key. It is pointed to vnetusba1 key. I just upgrade to the new 1.11.19 BIOS Can someone assist me and let me know where I went wrong.
Thanks

After installing the ROM update for the 5450 the route value becomes VNETUSBA1. Changing this to VNETMINI1 doesn't work. Any suggestions?

1.11.19 eliminates the need to do the registry edit. HP fixed it (finaly). After you install 1.11.19 you should be good to go.
