While it's quite common these days, to disallow tethering aka the use of a smartphone as a wireless modem for Notebooks, some carriers around the world still allow it. However, most smartphone platforms don't offer tethering out of the box and unlike Windows Mobile, Windows Phone 7 isn't anything different anymore. However, users of a Samsung Omnia 7 or Samsung Focus can rejoice now because Samsung's Windows Phone 7 diagnosis mode was uncovered which allows to use the Omnia 7 and Focus as a wireless modem using a USB connection. All it needs is to enable the Samsung diagnosis mode first and changing the USB port settings after!
