Earlier this month, I had the pleasure to review the new Nokia Lumia 800 Windows Phone as one of the first in Germany and as good as the Lumia 800 is - as Nokia's first Windows Phone - as much room it has for improvements - compared to other (non Windows Phone) smartphones. At the end of the day, the Lumia 800 stands in heavy competition with other Windows Phones as well as Android smartphones and the end-user is way more educated today than he/she was 3 or 4 years ago as well has users are expecting more. And therefore, for a smartphone in the 450+ Euro class, I would have expect the one or the other feature adjust- and enhancement to make it an even better more complete device.

"one goal was to get rid of the fragmentation as it happened with"

To be honest I stopped reading after this when you claim that installing 2 different apps on the Nokia creates fragmentation!! Is this what fragmentation is? I just have 2 different apps on my mobile and may have a 3rd installed what's the problem?.

Fragmentation as it exists on android is different hardware, different capabilities and apps that may or may not work in a specific device. This was a problem in the old windows mobile and exists in Android. I ignored the rest of your article.

Agree! Have the Lumia for one week now; my first Windows phone. And I also found the doubled apps irritating. Have un-installed Nokia Music but wish I could also un-install Bing Maps because it's a waste of space compared to Nokia Maps! Nokia Drive is ok for a free app but but I wouldn't have paid more than 5 € for it!
