3GSM LIVE: Samsung has no further plans to release the SGH-i310

Since it was unveiled first time, during last year's CeBIT, it became silent about Samsung's Windows Mobile-based music device, the SGH-i310 (an updated follower of the initially launched SGH-i300) and yesterday, Samsung confirmed that it wont be released in most Western European markets anymore. While this doesn't means, that the i310 is completely discontinued, it means that the 8 GB HDD Windows Mobile Smartphone isn't planned to be released in Germany, UK, France, etc. anymore but there are good chances that you might still see it in Russia or even Italy (but nothing is confirmed yet).

Samsung explained, that the feature set was quite right and also the decision for the HDD wasn't wrong and that the device might attract a fairly amount of customers. However, the i310 simply became too expensive - especially if it is compared to other Samsung devices with music focus.

So most likely, if you awaited the i310 release, you can say bye-bye - right before it was released. Time to look for something different.

Cheers ~ Arne
