ACCESSORY: HTC unveils HTC Mini+ Specs - Comes with Consumer Infrared and Laser Pointer

Silently, HTC put the HTC Mini+ on its global website and following all the previous information, we finally know officially what the Mini+ will be about. According to HTC, it's the "multi-tasking solution for everyone" which allows to take calls while using the phone to surf online as well as watching videos or playing games. Instant notifications of texts, events and E-Mails ensure users won't miss a thing. Hands-free remote camera control allows to take pictures from the connected phone at a distance. It even doubles as a TV remote control, and pairs with select HTC devices to operate multimedia streaming through your HTC Media Link HD. Last but not least, it comes with a built-in laser pointer and slideshow remote control.

The unveiled specs mention a size of 118.7 x 39.8 x 7.15 mm and a 1.5" white color 4 gray OLED display with a resolution of 128 x 128 pixels. Furthermore, HTC mentions CIR (consumer infrared capabilities), Sense TV and PowerPoint controls. All this is connected via Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR with NFC pairing capabilities. The embedded 320 mAh battery is said to be good enough for a talk time of up to 9 hours and a standby time of 95 hours.

Interesting enough, HTC only mentions compatibility with the HTC One mini, HTC Butterfly s, HTC Desire 200 and HTC Desire 500, even if I would expect that HTC's hero device, the HTC One is also compatible.

Anyway, most interesting feature of the HTC Mini+ could be - if true - the built-in consumer IR port which would allow to use the Mini Plus the same way as it's possible to use the HTC One, which already comes with built-in IrDA.
