Sony Ericsson has a long history in developing Bluetooth accessories, think of its Bluetooth watches or Bluetooth loudspeakers and today Sony Ericsson announces LiveView. LiveView uses Bluetooth connectivity to wirelessly pair up to a compatible handset and allows users to control the phone without taking it out of their pocket or handbag. It allows to read text messages, see incoming calls and keep up to date with the latest news on Facebook and Twitter. Furthermore it allows to control the Sony Ericsson music features of the handset from the micro display, selecting tracks and controlling volume and serves as a calendar reminder, displaying calendar events and other phone applications.
Whether on the go, in a meeting or out for dinner, the convenient Sony Ericsson LiveView can be clipped anywhere. Attached in a watch strap, on a keychain or clipped to a laptop, the micro display allows the user to incorporate the product into their lifestyle and always stay connected.
LiveView features Bluetooth technology, a micro USB connector and a 1,3" colour OLED display with a resolution of 128 x 128 pixels and has a typical consumer battery usage time of 4 days. It comes with a clip and wristband. According to Sony Ericsson, LiveView is compatible with the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini and Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini pro (but not the Sony Ericsson Xperia X8) and most other Android 2.0 handsets and above.
The Sony Ericsson LiveView will be available in stores from Q4 2010. It will also available in one of the Sony Ericsson Experience Packs which will be available in selected markets. A price wasn't announced today.
