Jataayu Software announced yesterday the launch of a community site aimed at taking mobile browsing to the next level. The community site is Jataayu's attempt to bring together individuals with an abiding interest in mobile browsing. Jataayu's endeavor is to make the vision of ubiquitous mobile web access a reality - by enabling its Truly Mobile browser -jB5 with ART technology - on the widest range of feature phones. The site offers beta versions of Symbian and Windows Mobile Smartphone implementations of jB5 - encouraging anyone and everyone to try out and use jB5 on their phones (while the free Beta download requires a registration)! It provides a forum for avidly discussing the Mobile Web, browsing and where it's headed, the latest advances, what they would like from jB5 and for sharing comments, feedback and suggestions on actual user experience with jB5.

"The Mobile Web is evolving and from being limited to specially prepared content for mobile devices is going wherever information and services can be found on the Web. jB5 connects people to the Web in a seamless manner, preserving familiar access to operator content while opening up the entire Web for them", said Arun Tanksali, CTO at Jataayu Software. "We have always believed in the power of the Mobile Web to make a difference to people's lives and we have created the jB5 community site to help the people in turn make a difference to the Mobile Web, in the way we can together help it evolve."

Jataayu's jB5 mobile browser offers a couple of settings, including different view options as well as it supports Java Script:

The jB5 product is licensed to several key customers and is being pre-integrated on leading Mobile Application Frameworks. It is Jataayu's award-winning Truly mobile browser with Adaptive Rendering Technology - ART, which provides the most usable adaptation of web pages for mobile phones. ART provides the flexibility to select the rendering mechanism best suited for the variety of device capabilities in use today and provides for a continuous enhancement of adaptation algorithms.

It's not yet known if the jB5 browser stays free or even publicly available or if Jataayu will provide it to manufactures only, after the Beta ends. Anyway - it might be worth to give it a try yet.

Cheers ~ Arne
