Unveiled back in February during the Mobile World Congress as the SmarKit S7, online retailer Expansys UK unveiled in today's newsletter that it will carry and ship Huawei's first Android tablet, the now called S7, soon. According to Expansys, the Huawei S7 runs on Android 2.1 and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU at 768 MHz. It comes with support for GSM/GPRS/EDGE as well as UMTS/HSPA (bands are unknown), WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, a gravity and a light sensor. According to the specs, the S7 features a 7" WVGA (800 x 480) touchscreen and sports a 2 megapixel camera. The inbuilt memory of 256 MB can be expanded with microSD cards up to 32 GB.

While S7's commercial availability was yet not announced by Huawei, Expansys seems to be confident to ship Huawei's first Android tablet as an exclusive first within the next 8 days! It's now available for preorder from Expansys UK for £299.99/364 Euro.

Cheers ~ Arne

Its a 1ghz snapdragon downclocked to 768mhz.
Didn't apple downclock all there previous Iphone's and Ipod touch's, the editor of this site is a moron.

This site like engadget are full of moron editors who always post misinformation, and then never corrects it.
How about actually acting like a real journalist and do some digging and fact checking
before you just post info people believe is the honest truth.

I don't know if anyone would want to risk buying from eXpansys though - I've e-mailed them twice with questions about this and they can't be bothered to reply.

What are you guys talking about? Nobody wrote anything about $450 but if you follow the link, it brings you to the Expansys UK site! Also who cares what the theoretical CPU speed is if Huawei decided to underclock it? You two guys sound like trolls!

@Steve: I'm a happy Expansys customer from Germany, ordered various stuff from Expansys UK and Expansys Germany and they never failed! Sure, sometimes Expansys is a bit expansive but often they have the good stuff first, even before Amazon.
