ANNOUNCED: Samsung unveils the Omnia Pro 4 and Omnia Pro 5 Windows Phones

In addition to its range of new Android smartphones, Samsung today also announced two new Windows Phones at the current CommunicAsia in Singapore. Both, the Omnia Pro 4 B7350 and Omnia Pro 5 B6520 are running Windows Mobile 6.5 and featuring a front facing QWERTY keyboard (like the Samsung BlackJack). The Omnia Pro 4 supports quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE as well as dualband UMTS at 900/2100 MHz. The Samsung Omnia 5 also supports quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE but triband UMTS/HSDPA 3.6 Mbps at 900/1900/2100 MHz. Furthermore, both smartphones will features Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, WiFi b/g, aGPS/GPS as well as an FM radio.

The Omnia Pro 4 runs Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional and therefore comes with a 2.6" 320 x 320 touchscreen. The autofocus camera on the back supports 3.2 megapixel, additionally the device will feature a front-facing CIF camera for UMTS video telephony.

The Omnia Pro 5 runs Windows Mobile 6.5 standard and therefore comes with a 2.4" QVGA (320 x 240) non-touchscreen. The camera is a fixfocus camera and only supports 2 megapixel.

Microsoft Office Mobile 2010 will be preinstalled on both devices, allowing to access and edit files right on the Omnia Pro. Office Communicator Mobile, which is also preinstalled, allows to use the same phone number for mobile and office.

The Samsung Omnia Pro 4 will be available from July in European Countries, CIS and South Eastern Asia while the Omnia Pro 5 will be available from August in SEA, MEA regions, India and Latin America.
